A test matrix was developed to explore the effect of Therm-O-Lite's interior retrofit systems on the window response. The glass types used for the tests consisted of 1/4" annealed glass (prime window) and 5/16" laminated glass (Therm-O-Lite window).
Both monolithic and laminated panes of glass were tested. The windows were tested in typical commercial aluminum frames.
The ISC performance conditions for windows are presented graphically in the figure below. The ISC approach compares potential hazards based on the tpe and location of glass fragments interior and exterior to the test cubicle. These criteria indirectly reflect the velocity (hence hazard level) of fragments based on their distance from the original window position.
